2019 Nissan Altima AWD vs. 2019 Hyundai Sonata | La Crosse, WI

Nissan Altima vs. Hyundai Sonata
The 2019 Nissan Altima AWD and the Hyundai Sonata are two strong competitors in the sedan segment, but there are important differences that make the Altima AWD rise above its competition.

The Nissan Altima went through a complete redesign for the 2019 model year. Its stance is defined and confident, and its deep character lines and wide stance mimic a sports car rather than an everyday sedan.

The 2019 Sonata falls short in this category. While Hyundai redesigned its grille to try to improve its appearance, the Sonata’s looks largely fail to impress, lacking defined character lines and a sporty feel.

All-wheel drive

The 2019 Altima AWD is making history for the Nissan brand as its first-ever all-wheel drive sedan. Its tires grip the road with confidence, making it a versatile sedan for daily driving. Plus, to save you money at the pump, the Altima’s Intelligent All-Wheel Drive shifts to the front two wheels for fuel-efficient cruising.

The Hyundai Sonata is only available as a front-wheel drive model.

As a daily driver, your sedan needs to have a strong focus on safety. The Nissan Altima incorporates the Nissan Intelligent Mobility™ system. This system utilizes a variety of driver-assist features: Automatic Emergency Braking, Rear Automatic Braking, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Blind Spot Warning, Lane Departure Warning, and High Beam Assist.

The 2019 Sonata comes standard with a few of those features, but doesn’t come close to the total package offered by the Altima.

The 2019 Nissan Altima is the most fuel efficient all-wheel drive sedan in its class. Even compared to the 2019 Sonata’s front-wheel drive model, the Altima still comes out on top. The 2019 Nissan Altima AWD averages 26 mpg in the city and 36 mpg on the highway.* The 2019 Hyundai Sonata gets slightly lower fuel economy, with 35 mpg on the highway.

Bottom line: The Sonata doesn’t hold a candle to the Nissan Altima. Test drive the superior 2019 Nissan Altima AWD at Pischke Motors Nissan.
